Well, we are back on dry land! As always, Catalina delivered great water and amazing dives. The weather held off for us to keep warm and enjoy everybody’s company too. The crew of the Sand Dollar took great care of all who were on the boat.. We dove in several sites from Fragle Rock, the Quarry, Torqua Springs, Italian Gardens and many more. The food on the boat was superb! Chef Donna prepared everything from homemade chili and stew to a great roast and potatoes. With seven meals a day, nobody went hungry, and everyone got to hear at least one of Busters’ stories or dive lessons.
Friday morning started off with a more advanced dive of sorts for those really hoping to get the lobster. We ended the day at Pirates Cove where we had some spectacular dives with a harbor seal and several species of baby sharks and rock fish. Several lobsters were brought up that night. We dove until 12:30am and loved every minute of it.
Water World would like to congratulate Amy Burgess for accumulating the most dives on this trip. Amy finished the trip with 14 dives in 1 ½ days of diving.
You are an ANIMAL Amy! We had several Divers come away with 13 dives, but Amy went the extra mile, sometimes not even taking off her gear. She had her take filled a few times while it was still on her back!
There were also several 1st time ocean divers, Kelty and Duane Johnson, Brent Peterson, Jina Mickelson, Michelle Watts, Kyle Tebbs, and a few more. Congratulations to all of you for advancing your dive experience.
The award for most adventurous, would have to go to Josh and Scott; go deep or go home boys!
For those of you who attended, we at Water World would like to thank you. As for those divers who missed the trip, what are you waiting for? Here’s your invitation. We will be setting out again in February, 2009. Lobster Season will be winding down, but there will still be several bugs waiting to come home with you.
